Goats to chase...Horses to run away from...flies to catch (a
tricky skill requiring patience and determination) and long
long walks...
That's what Alhama De Granada is to me.
But if there's one thing I'm most thrilled about Alhama, it's
our adventures to the restaurants near
Plaza Constitucion.
I am usually forced to heel while walking towards the plaza.
But that's a small price to pay for the smells and the sights
an hour or two under a restaurant table brings.
I’m not scary at all!
In Ha Noi, I enjoyed being perceived as a fierce tough dog,
scaring the kids and giving the old men a mean hard look.
But out here, no one is scared of me.
And as much as I hate this loss of tough-boy-image, the alternative
is surprisingly nice, especially when it comes from the laaydiiiess!
Out in the restaurants (or walking around Andalucia), some
people sometimes give me a pat on the head or a “Que
perro bonito!” comment.
It’s a bit embarassing because I’m not used to
the attention or the touching. Or the worst kind of all! An
ear tickle (whoever said dogs love this is very very misinformed!)
Not as fun as scaring the kids but definitely more heart
warming.
So anyway, if you find yourself in Andalucia one of these
days and visit Alhama De Granada, look
for me under one of the tables.
And if you see me, do say hello.
And if you can help it, (most can't resist my charm and good
looks), I'd very much appreciate a piece of your food rather
than a tap on the head.
Do that and you’re guaranteed I’ll fall in love
with you, no questions asked!
Rufff....GRRrrrrr....Ruff...GRRrrrrr,
